Some time ago we got to know Sara more closely, our B-Family Spa Manager, who in an interview told us some interesting stories about her life and her work at the Boffenigo. Sara is an expert in her field, a true professional when it comes to relaxation and wellness. She knows which are the best treatments to propose and she is very good at understanding what our guests need for a unique and relaxing experience at our Spa.
Today we have asked her detailed questions about treatments with almond oil, a simple ingredient which is also rich in beneficial nutritional properties for our body.
What is your favourite treatment? And why?
My favourite treatment is the massage, generally, any kind. For me it as an exchange of energy between operator and customer, it is a kind of love, of dance, of music. During a massage I quickly try to understand what the client needs. At the basis there is obviously a good technique. But what makes the difference is the ability to create a continuous flow of energy between my hands and the soul of the person being treated. Imagine two poles of energy that begin to play guided by my instinct.
Is there a treatment for which you use a particular raw material? Which are its properties and benefits?
Body treatment with almond oil. For me it is the “best friend” of everybody's skin and hair! In fact, it is quite used by pregnant women and is also suitable for children. It is the most widely used vegetable oil in natural cosmetics, thanks to its incredible relaxing, softening, soothing and nourishing properties. The change in the skin is immediate and the first feeling is a soft and silky effect. Furthermore, the presence of vitamin E and B, amino acids, carbohydrates and mineral salts make it an excellent remedy against skin aging and help tissue renewal.
How do you make almond oil?
Sweet almond oil is obtained by cold pressing the oily seed contained in the fruit, without the use of chemical solvents, and used in its pure state.
What type of skin requires more almond oil?
Surely dry and dehydrated skins. Sweet almond oil should be applied with a light massage preferably after a bath (when the skin is still moist) so that the oil molecules emulsify with those of the water, making its absorption easier. For the best result I always suggest to combine almond oil with a scrub, excellent for exfoliating the skin and making it more effective.
What about women expecting a baby?
Pure sweet almond oil is an excellent natural remedy against stretch marks, especially those caused by a pregnancy: it should be applied daily on the abdomen, breasts, hips and thighs until the end of breastfeeding. Its property of making the skin more elastic prevents tears which cause unpleasant cracks or lines on the skin of pregnant women. This is why it is also recommended during slimming diets to prevent sagging skin following weight loss.
Thank you very much Sara for describing the benefits of treatments with almond oil!
